Jay has represented many famous figures in both civil and criminal cases, with over 200 reported appellate decisions.

He has handled every imaginable kind of lawsuit, from securing Kosher food for Jewish prisoners in federal custody to the rights of activist priests; from dealing with complex federal wiretap cases to children in Peru damaged by an American corporation pouring lead into their community. Jay Breakstone serves his community as the President of the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association, is an elected trustee of this own town’s school board and even stood as a New York State Assembly candidate in 2004.
